How We Pay for Houses:

Even though Lakeway Area Habitat for Humanity is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International, all funds used to build houses are raised locally, by our affiliate. Sources of funds include the mortgage payments from houses already built and sold; sales from our Recycling Hope Thrift Store; Grants; and donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and civic clubs.

Homeownership is within reach!

Lakeway Area Habitat for Humanity  makes homeownership possible for low-income households, offering 0% APR mortgage loans to purchase homes built or renovated by Lakeway Area Habitat for Humanity.

Habitat homes are not free! Monthly mortgage payments will not exceed 30% of eligible applicants’ gross monthly income at the time of home purchase. Sales prices and mortgage loan amounts are based on market values which vary by location and home.  Payments include principal on the mortgage loan, property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, and homeowner’s association dues if applicable. Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their homes and each home comes with a one-year warranty.
